A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, Tim played his drummer James Williams and I a great guitar riff. James started playing a vintage pop-rock beat and New Dance was born.
I threw in my 2 cents as well, but I remember being more involved in the first verse and the concept of New Dance. When conceiving the song we were discussing the "dirtier" side of dancing. I think Tim's version does a great job of subverting the vintage dance song with modern lyrics.
I however, have been listening to a ton of Prince lately and decided to be a little more overt; even changing lyrics where it serves my cause. It was a blast!
(I even threw in a little tribute to SBTB's Bayside Tigers. See if you can find it)
